The heart saddens when seeing that because of a family´s economic limitations and the remote places where they live, a child can suffer in a huge way.

The 20th of May, Maria Araceli Larios Garcia, six years old, was rescued in the village of Santa Barbara, Chiquimula; an area that is located on the other side of a river that is impossible for vehicles to pass through. However, with the help of the family members and the decision to help the little girl, they were able to transport her by carrying her in a hammock, which was necessary due to her severe malnourished state that made it impossible for her to move by herself.

Because of her extreme delicate state, she was taken to the hospital where she is now recuperating.

“The children of Guatemala need you, may we open our eyes to the great need…only by uniting together we will make the difference.”

Thank you for your prayers and support, they are what make it possible every day to be able to bring more and more children that need us so much, no matter what the problems or obstacles may be that stand in our way.

This week, four children with severe malnutrition and physical disorders came to the Liberty Nutrition and Rescue Center. Their illnesses were caused by serve lack of food, clean water, and medical attention.  Theses resources were unattainable, because these children lived in the “darkest” parts of the mountains.   Two of the children, which came from two different villages in the western part of the country, were born with cleft lips and palates.

Our Mission founder, Carlos Vargas, hopes to be able to help change the lives of these four children. In the same way, he has been able to help many others who have come to the Hope of Life Mission in their time of need. The progress continues with our newest project, the Saint Luke Hospital. We are trusting in God to provide the finances and resources to allow us to finish the construction soon, so that we can serve the sick and poverty-stricken children of our beautiful Guatemala.

We extend a prayerful invitation to all those who feel called to be part of this amazing opportunity. However you choose to be involved, we welcome your generous gift. Whether your gift is physical labor, financial generosity, and/or spiritual support, it all helps us reach our goal of providing outstanding medical care to the children of Guatemala.

Everyday, the Saint Luke Hospital is becoming more and more necessary!

Together we can continue to make this vision a reality!
